WSL were engaged to deliver  a scheme of traditional tube & fitting. Part of the design brief was that the scaffold could not be tied to the front façade with conventional mechanical fixings. So a strategy was developed using the existing window openings. This would have been straightforward, however a 500KG Goods only hoist had to be tied in as well!. The rear of the property could also not accept load onto the ground level roof’s, so the access scaffold had to be supported off the façade using shear ties. This then allowed the planned roof work to be completed ahead of the scaffold being dismantled. For quite a small project there was a large amount of design input required in order for the smooth delivery of contract.
